Managing groundwater sustainably

Abstract: Sustainable groundwater management is a key to water security in sustainable development, vlomate change resilience and reducing water-related drivers of biodiversity loss. This guide provides an explanation of the technical challenges that must be met to manage groundwater well and how good governance, economic analysis and incentives, and effective social organisation each play a vital role in the solutions needed. Through explanation of key concepts supported by practical examples from the field, SPRING shows how communities, civil society, technical specialists and policy makers collaborate to create change in groundwater management.
