IUCN Director General speaks of her hopes for the International Year of Biodiversity (04 January 2010)
The world is facing a global extinction crisis which threatens not only the natural environment but mankind itself. Species, ecosystems and natural resources, which all life on earth depends upon, must be safeguarded before it’s too late. That’s the message from IUCN for the International Year of Biodiversity. Julia Marton-Lefèvre, IUCN's Director General, says she has great hopes for what can be achieved during 2010.
